KVG Laboratories is a small group of musicians, designers and audio engineers devoted to creating musical instruments, loudspeakers, audio equipment and recordings without the compromises imposed by mass production.

Everything we build is made individually by hand. Our designs grow from decades of practical experience in music, audio engineering and fabrication, and we do not introduce products simply to have something new to sell. A design is finished when we believe it is right—not when a marketing calendar says it is time.

Our Team

Kermit Gray

Founder, designer, audio engineer, electroacoustics engineer and professional photographer. An incurable gear fanatic and cat fancier, with musical interests ranging from the music of the 1400s through the mid-1980s.

Chris Sandburg

Executive Assistant, Logistics and Inventory Management, and inventor of our SilkGlide guitar and bass neck treatment. Chris brings a love of both music and people to KVG, with listening tastes that include ’50s oldies, Santana, Chicago, ABBA, The Beatles and the Bee Gees.

Tyler Sams

Production Manager, guitarist, fabricator, assembler, finisher, and guitar and bass setup technician. Tyler brings a genuine enthusiasm for instruments, craftsmanship and the music-making life to everything he builds.

Jerry Harkins

Our cassette and vinyl record revivalist. Jerry has an extraordinary enthusiasm for cassette tape and an equally good ear for audio quality. Around here, when Jerry says something sounds good, we pay attention.
