Altisonus:Dialectic

Altisonus:Dialectic is one of two entries into the Altisonus Listening Experience, capable of giving a
listener simultaneously the most pianissimo passages without loss of detail and fortissimo passages without perceptible distortions. You’ll enjoy extended periods of listening without fatigue or vexation.

Altisonus:Dialectic doesn’t overly emphasize any particular range of tones, preserving the harmonic structure of complex sounds.
The vivid, lifelike spatial rendering encompasses the whole stereo panorama; the conveyance of the subtle psychoacoustic cues that provide emotional response
by the listener, enhancing the ability for even a casual listener to discern both quantitative and aesthetic diﬀerences among recordings, source equipment, amplifiers, or other associated equipment.

Altisonus:Dialectic is a compact two-way, sealed enclosure design with a 6-1/2” concave dome woofer and a 1” coated silk dometweeter, seamlessly blended at 2,000 Hz so that it covers 55 Hz to 23,000 Hz.

Technical Features

Woofer

The 6CD8 woofer has a concave dome diaphragm, formed from an amorphous constrained-layer fiber/pulp material. A reliable Santoprene surround and medium-stiﬀness, linear-wave, textile spider precisely controls the motion of the woofer. A carefully designed linear motor reduces the effects of secondary magnetic field emissions that would otherwise increase distortion. The concave dome shape enables uniform dispersion over a 140-degree included angle, which gives the Altisonus:Dialectic its vivid stereo imaging. All these factors give the woofer a highly-detailed, un-fatiguing, warm yet natural sound reminiscent of the “Golden Age of Audio” circa the 1970s.

Tweeter

The KVG 1SD8 tweeter is a convex silk dome coated with vapor-deposited urethane and reinforced with an open-weave lattice of 50-gauge aramid fiber threads. It has uniform dispersion over 110-degrees at the crossover point, another reason for Altisonus:Dialectic’s expansive stereo imaging. The tweeter is detailed and very natural sounding without either harshness or muffled sounds.

Crossover

Although the Altisonus:Dialectic is optimized for biamplification, the woofer and tweeter can be seamlessly combined by an optional Multi-Pole Minimum Phase (MP2) crossover.

The Altisonus:Dialectic uses a proprietary Bass IImpulse Booster to improve transient response, preserve phase coherence, and eliminate low-frequency “wolf tones.”

Altisonus:Dialectic lacks the “one note bass” of many small speakers. You’ll hear the subtle textures and layering of bass sounds, a hallmark of the Altisonus Listening Experience, most speakers cannot achieve.
